Custom connector

Connect MoveMate to Muse

Updated November 7, 2026

Muse is Meta's personal AI agent. In the Muse web app you add MoveMate as a custom connector and sign in with OAuth. Muse Code, Meta's terminal agent, is set up separately, see Muse Code below. Neither covers the separate Meta AI app.

Before you start

  • A Muse account.
  • A MoveMate account. No account yet? One is created when you sign in for the first time.
  • A workout or two logged in the MoveMate app on iPhone or Android, so there's something to ask about. You can also start from an empty account and plan from the chat.
  1. 1

    Ask Muse to create a connector

    Open the Muse web app and send the message below. Keep the URL exactly as it is.

    Message to Muse
    Create a connector for MoveMate using the remote MCP server at https://api.movemate.app/mcp. Use OAuth to sign in to my MoveMate account.
  2. 2

    Review and approve

    Follow the steps Muse shows. Before you approve, check that the request names MoveMate and api.movemate.app. Then sign in on MoveMate's page.

  3. 3

    Ask about your training

    Once Muse confirms the connector, try “What workouts have I logged in MoveMate this week?”

Muse Code in your terminal

Muse Code is a separate product: connecting MoveMate in the Muse app doesn't connect it here, and the other way round.

  1. 1

    Add MoveMate to your settings

    Open ~/.config/muse/settings.json (create it if it doesn't exist) and add the movemate entry. The file needs "schema_version": 1. If there's already an mcp_servers block, add the entry inside it.

    ~/.config/muse/settings.json
    {
      "schema_version": 1,
      "mcp_servers": {
        "movemate": {
          "transport": "streamable_http",
          "url": "https://api.movemate.app/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  2. 2

    Sign in

    Run the command and approve access in the browser window that opens. Muse Code keeps the sign-in fresh by itself.

    Terminal
    muse mcp login movemate
  3. 3

    Check and ask

    Start muse, run /mcp and look for MoveMate in the list. Then ask about your training.

  • Run muse mcp logout movemate to sign out, and remove the entry from your settings file to stop using it.

Manage access

  • Disconnect the connector in Muse under Settings → Connectors.
  • What Muse already read may stay in its chat history or memory after you disconnect. Use Muse's own controls to clear it.
  • The MoveMate app lists Claude and ChatGPT connections under AI settings. Other clients don't show up there yet, so to revoke one on our side, email support and name the client.

If setup doesn't work

  • Check that the URL is exactly https://api.movemate.app/mcp, with nothing added to the path and no trailing space.
  • Make sure the connector uses OAuth, not an API key.
  • MoveMate signs in with OAuth, so you never need an API key or token. Type your sign-in details only on MoveMate's own page, never into a chat.

Still stuck? Send the exact error text (never a code or token) to support@movemate.app
