Connect MoveMate to Grok Bot

Grok Bot is xAI's always-on agent with its own cloud computer. It has no settings field for a server URL: you ask the Bot in chat to add MoveMate, then sign in once. For the chat at grok.com, use the Grok guide instead.

Before you start

  • Access to Grok Bot.
  • A MoveMate account. No account yet? One is created when you sign in for the first time.
  • A workout or two logged in the MoveMate app on iPhone or Android, so there's something to ask about. You can also start from an empty account and plan from the chat.

    Ask your Bot to add MoveMate

    Send the message below in a chat with your Bot. Asking for a “custom MCP server” makes it add the address directly instead of searching its plugin catalog.

    Confirm the name and URL

    The Bot repeats what it's about to add and asks you to confirm. Make sure the URL reads https://api.movemate.app/mcp, then confirm.

    Sign in to MoveMate

    Open the authorization step the Bot shows. MoveMate's sign-in page opens in your browser: sign in and approve access.

    Ask about your training

    Mention MoveMate in a chat: “Using MoveMate, how has my bench press moved over the last two months?” or “Schedule a leg day on Friday.”

Manage access

  • Remove MoveMate from your account's connected servers in Grok Bot.
  • The MoveMate app lists Claude and ChatGPT connections under AI settings. Other clients don't show up there yet, so to revoke one on our side, email support and name the client.

If setup doesn't work

  • Check that the URL is exactly https://api.movemate.app/mcp, with nothing added to the path and no trailing space.
  • Using Grok Bot on a team? An admin's connector policy can block custom servers. Ask them to allow api.movemate.app.
  • MoveMate signs in with OAuth, so you never need an API key or token. Type your sign-in details only on MoveMate's own page, never into a chat.
