Connect MoveMate to Gemini

Gemini can use MoveMate as a custom app. You add it once on a computer and approve the sign-in. After that, MoveMate works in Gemini chats on the web and in the Gemini app on your phone.

Before you start

  • A setup Google allows custom apps on: a personal Google Account (not work or school), age 18 or over, in the United States, with Gemini in English. Outside that, use ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini CLI below.
  • Gemini Apps Activity switched on in your Gemini settings.
  • A computer. Custom apps can't be added from the Gemini mobile app, though MoveMate works there once added.
  • A MoveMate account. No account yet? One is created when you sign in for the first time.

    Open Connected Apps

    On a computer, go to gemini.google.com, open Settings and choose Connected Apps. Don't see it? Open Personal Intelligence first.

    Add MoveMate as a custom app

    Under Custom apps, select Add a custom app, paste the URL below and select Next. MoveMate registers Gemini automatically, so leave the advanced fields and credentials empty.

    Sign in and approve

    Gemini sends you to MoveMate's sign-in page. Sign in with your MoveMate account and approve access.

    Ask about your training

    To make sure Gemini uses MoveMate, type @ and pick it, then ask “How many workouts did I log this month?” Gemini may ask you to confirm before a change such as scheduling a workout.

Gemini CLI

Gemini CLI, the developer tool for your terminal, is a different product without the custom-app limits above.

    Add MoveMate

    Run the command, then restart Gemini CLI.

    Sign in

    Inside Gemini CLI, run the command below and approve access in your browser.

Manage access

  • Remove MoveMate under Settings → Connected Apps in Gemini.
  • Google doesn't run or secure third-party MCP servers. How MoveMate handles your data is in our privacy policy.
  • The MoveMate app lists Claude and ChatGPT connections under AI settings. Other clients don't show up there yet, so to revoke one on our side, email support and name the client.

If setup doesn't work

  • No Custom apps section: your account, country, age or language is outside Google's current limits.
  • The connection stalls after you approve: remove the custom app in Connected Apps and add it again.
  • Check that the URL is exactly https://api.movemate.app/mcp, with nothing added to the path and no trailing space.
