Connect MoveMate to Grok

Grok at grok.com connects to MoveMate through a custom connector. Add it once, approve the sign-in, and Grok can read your training and plan sessions in any chat. For xAI's always-on agent, see the Grok Bot guide.

Before you start

  • A Grok account that can add custom connectors.
  • A MoveMate account. No account yet? One is created when you sign in for the first time.
  • A workout or two logged in the MoveMate app on iPhone or Android, so there's something to ask about. You can also start from an empty account and plan from the chat.

    Open connectors

    Go to grok.com/connectors, select New Connector and choose Custom.

    Paste MoveMate's URL

    Use this as the MCP server URL. It's the same for every MoveMate account and holds no personal token.

    Approve the connection

    Grok sends you to MoveMate's sign-in page. Sign in and approve access.

    Ask about your training

    Start a chat and ask “What does MoveMate show for my last five workouts?” Grok finds MoveMate's tools on its own.

Grok Build in your terminal

Grok Build is xAI's coding agent for the terminal. Add MoveMate once with the command below. The first time it calls MoveMate, it opens the same browser sign-in.

Manage access

  • Remove the connector at grok.com/connectors.
  • The MoveMate app lists Claude and ChatGPT connections under AI settings. Other clients don't show up there yet, so to revoke one on our side, email support and name the client.

If setup doesn't work

  • Check that the URL is exactly https://api.movemate.app/mcp, with nothing added to the path and no trailing space.
  • On Grok Business or Enterprise, an admin adds connectors in the console before members can use them. Ask yours to add MoveMate.
  • MoveMate signs in with OAuth, so you never need an API key or token. Type your sign-in details only on MoveMate's own page, never into a chat.
