Import from Hevy & Strong

Bring your Hevy or Strong history to MoveMate

Switching trackers shouldn't mean starting from zero. Export a CSV from Hevy, Strong or FitNotes, open it in MoveMate, and your workouts land in your history — with stats, progress charts and personal records. MoveMate also spots the sessions you repeat and turns them into workouts ready to start.

Example

workout_data.csv — Hevy export
Hevy export recognized: 412 workouts, January 2024 to March 2026. 38 exercises — 36 matched to the MoveMate library, 2 added as custom exercises. You repeat 3 sessions: Push, Pull and Legs. Save them to My workouts so your next one is ready on Home?

Export your data

  • Hevy: Profile → Settings → Export & Import Data → Export Workouts.
  • Strong: Settings → Export Strong Data. Both the iPhone and Android formats work.
  • FitNotes: Settings → Spreadsheet Export.

Import it into MoveMate

  • New to MoveMate? During onboarding, answer "Already training with your own program?" and choose import. Already using the app? Go to Profile → Import workouts.
  • Pick the CSV file. If a Strong file doesn't say whether it is in kg or lb, MoveMate asks.
  • Review the preview and save. The whole import can be undone with one tap.

Read exactly, not guessed

Export files are read as they are: dates, sets, reps, weights, times and distances come straight from the file. AI is used only to match your exercise names to the MoveMate library, and anything that doesn't match becomes a custom exercise.

There is no need to split anything up. A file of up to 20 MB — thousands of workouts — goes in one go, and importing the same file again skips the workouts you already have.

Your program comes with you

After the import, MoveMate finds the sessions you repeat — Push, Pull, Legs, Day A and Day B — and offers to save them in My workouts, each built from the last time you did it. Your next workout is ready on the Home screen, so you can keep training the program you already have.

Logging somewhere else?

Notes, a spreadsheet or a paper log work too: paste the text or take a photo, and MoveMate turns it into workouts the same way.

Questions

Which apps can I import from?
Hevy, Strong (iPhone and Android) and FitNotes, from their CSV exports. From any other app, paste your workouts as text or import a screenshot.
Do my personal records and progress charts carry over?
Yes. Imported workouts appear in your history, stats, progress charts and personal records, just like workouts logged in MoveMate.
Is there a size limit?
Files can be up to 20 MB, which covers thousands of workouts. A normal training history goes in one go.
My history is in pounds. Is that a problem?
No. Hevy and FitNotes files carry their unit. Strong files don't always, so MoveMate asks whether the numbers are kg or lb.
What happens to exercises MoveMate doesn't have?
Exercise names are matched to the MoveMate library. Anything without a match is created as a custom exercise, with its sets intact. You can also swap a match in the preview.
Can I import again later, or undo it?
Yes. Re-importing a newer export skips the workouts already in your history, and any import can be undone with one tap.
Is it free? Does it keep syncing?
The import is free for everyone. It is a one-time import to bring your history over, not a live sync with the other app.
Is MoveMate free?
Yes. Logging workouts, the exercise library, and connecting MoveMate to ChatGPT or Claude all work on a free account. An optional Pro subscription adds extra features in the app.
What can the AI see?
Only your MoveMate training data: workouts, sets, personal records, progression, planned sessions and the body profile you filled in. It never sees your password or payment details, and it asks before creating or changing a workout.
Can I disconnect it later?
Yes, any time — from MoveMate's AI settings or from the connector settings in ChatGPT or Claude. Disconnecting revokes access immediately.
